 Grenet Cell
1888

Grenet Batteries were single-element battery source with flasks of varying volumetric capacity, from 1/3 liter to 3 liters. These battery elements, when filled with an acid solution and placed in series, were a common source of electrical current prior to the development of the dry-cell battery.

For more information on the development of the battery, see Allessandro Volta.
